This the first Upanga. This contains lucid and poetic description of numerous topics including King Kunik’s preparations to go to pay homage to Bhagavan Mahavir, Bhagavan’s sermon and establishment of the religious order. This also contains the description of austerities observed by Ambad and many other Parivrajaks.
